Freshwater pearls are the most commonly cultivated type of pearls, produced by freshwater mussels on pearl farms. These natural gems are created through a process called nucleation, where tiny pieces of mantle tissue are inserted into the mussels, leading to the formation of a sac and the gradual secretion of nacre to form the pearls. It takes 2 to 7 years for the mussels to deposit layers of nacre around the growing pearls.

Pearls are unique gemstones as they originate from living creatures, making them not only visually stunning but also one of the most beautiful creations of Mother Nature.
